Did Big Fish Kill Spalding Gray?

Spalding Gray has gone missing, and according to this story, the last film he saw was Big Fish, which his wife speculates “gave him permission” to do that which he’d been contemplating and attempting for many months prior.

This article is absolutely terrible.  It meanders along, fishing for tears with one pretentious phrase after another.  How does one ‘wander ominously’?  What is ‘an almost quintessential tableau of northeastern Protestantism’?

Depression is an illness, and Spalding Grey’s came about from brain injury. To blame his death on Big Fish is as ludirous as blaming his brand of toothpaste or laundry detergent.
