Happy 80th Birthday, Neil Postman

It was Neil Postman, not that other guy, who first wrote the poignant, poetic, and unforgettable line (perhaps his best), “Children are the living messages we send to a time we will
not see.”  This is not film related, but a few friends and family of Postman are trying to correct an online injustice that Google will fix only if enough bloggers post it.

Why not email the top sites that show up in Google with the original source of the quote and a nice message saying they’ve attributed it to the wrong guy?

Some further evidence as to how it came to be attributed to the wrong guy would seal the case, and should make any self-respecting webmaster mend the error of his ways.

I note that the top site in Google containing the erroneous attribution, ranks this quote as the favorite quote among all those of “that other guy”. So this is more than just a harmless oversight.
