None of All Our Fears

Hollywood saves us from the neo-Nazis. Don’t you feel better now?

Interesting points. I agree that the alterations from the novel were a blatant example of a post 9/11 Hollywood walking on eggshells. At the end of the day, one wonders whether these alterations came about via a concern for the emotional stability of the nation, or maybe, just maybe, producers foresaw the box office damage that would be done should the film offend anyone. In the words of the greatly missed Bill Hicks; ‘Quit puttin a fucking dollar sign on everything you see’.
The neo-nazi stuff? be careful what you write; ‘They’re not exactly serious threats to national security.’ Remember Timothy Mcveigh? Inspired by ‘The Turner Diaries’, a modern nazi manifesto. Has enough time passed since Oklahoma to discount the threat of fascists in America?
